Wegmans on The Office

It's true! I had heard rumors of this and last night it was confirmed. On the season premiere of The Office, the opening scene featured Michael eating breakfast and on the table next to him is a carton of Wegman's Organic Milk and a box of Wegman's brand cereal.

The Office takes place in Scranton, PA, near where I grew up, so I have noticed a lot of local product placements that are real in that area. The Froggy 101 bumper sticker is a real radio station in PA. In the vending maching there are Herr's pototo chips, a local brand.

With several Wegmans in PA, it is no surprise that the producers have decided to feature Wegman's products on the show. So cool!

You can also watch the episode of The Office with the Wegman's milk and cereal at the begining here.

No More Hot Doughnuts Now - Goodbye Krispy Kreme

Seven years ago I got up at 4 am on a cold December morning to stand in line at the opening day of Krispy Kreme. I collected my free t-shirt, ate a bunch of doughnuts, then went home and back to bed before going to work. That was how much I loved Krispy Kreme.

Last week, the Henrietta Krispy Kreme, the last remaining Krispy Kreme in Rochester, closed it's doors. I am crushed.

Where will I goafter a late night movie to satisfy a sugar craving? How will I explain to my mom I won't be bringing home a dozen when I come to visit?

Really if this was going to happen, I would have expected it during the big Atkin's diet rage. What went wrong that they couldn't stay open in Rochester? How come Buffalo got to keep a Krispy Kreme? How many times will I find myself driving to Buffalo to satisfy a Krispy Kreme craving?

My husband says it's because Rochestarians are picky about their doughnuts. They like cakey doughnuts. Just like they are particular about their ice cream... prefering frozen custard. Apparently that's why we only have one Ben & Jerry's in the area.

I don't know... it just seems like there is enough doughnut love to go around.

Celebrity Spotting at TIFF

This past weekend I went to the Toronto Film Festival with my husband, my best friend and her husband. This is the eighth year we have gone. We love not only seeing great films, but we love the celebrity spotting.

We have some strict rules about celebrity spotting... because we are spotters not stalkers. If a celebrity is on the red carpet or doing some other type of promotion for their movie... they are "on the clock" and I will take their picture. But if they are shopping or eating breakfast... it is fun to see them... but no picture taking, no autograph requests.

I took a few celebrity pictures this weekend, but unfortunately the conditions were not ideal.

Jake Gyllenhaal is across the street. No, really.

Jim Broadbent at the screening of the movie "When Did You Last See Your Father?" If only he would stand still.

Helen Hunt at the screening of her movie "Then She Found Me".

Ahhhh, finally! Steven Dorff... you can really tell it's him... sorta. *sigh* We had just seen his movie "The Passage".

Just to show that I don't always totally suck at getting a good picture, here are a couple I took at the 2005 Toronto Film Festival.

Eva Longoria

Michelle Williams and Heath Ledger

I would not make a good paparazzi.
