The Epitome of Geekiness at the Corner of State and Main

The two nerdling worlds of Star Wars and stamp collecting have collided in the City of Rochester at the corner of State and Main.

Hundreds of U.S. Postal Service blue collection boxes were transformed into R2-D2 look-alikes to promote the partnership between the Postal Service and Lucasfilm Ltd. Rochester got one downtown.

I have to admit it. My little geeky heart skipped a beat when I heard that they were coming out with Star Wars stamps this year. The Artoo mailboxes were gravy.

Of course I had to track down Rochester's Artoo. And have my picture take with him. And then send my picture to the Artoo Spotters gallery. (at least I didn't go in costume!)

I am reveling in my dorkiness.

I'm Jenny, and I came to Rochester to get my Master's at RIT and *SURPRISE!* ... 10 years later I'm still here with:
  • a house in the city
  • a cat
  • a dog
  • a rabbit
  • a husband
  • a snowboard
  • a job as a web designer at Kodak In this blog I will write about life in Rochester including:
  • food
  • shopping
  • events
  • sights
  • weird weather
  • occasionally things like cupcakes and pugs
I have been blogging on my own site, www.ljcfyi.com, for six years and just started contributing to Kodak's corporate blog, 1000words.kodak.com, this year. Hopefully these posts will be as funny/interesting/weird as my posts on those sites.
