Guster is Green
Guster is one of my favorite bands, so whenever they come to Rochester, I have to go see them.Tonight they were at Water Street Music Hall where they played a great concert and I got to meet them afterwards.
The extra cool thing is that Guster is on their second Campus Conciousness Tour where they are trying to lessen their impact on the environment and spread the word about renewable energy and alternative fuels. To make the tour green they fuel their bus with biodiesel, offer eco-friendly merchandise, use post consumer recycled paper products and more.
I am starting to read more and more about reducing one's footprint... sites like No Impact Man and Sew Green. I am attempting to be better myself by doing things like using Wegman's reusable grocery bags and replacing my incandescent lightbulbs with compact flourescent ones. It's great to see a band like Guster paving the way in this area.
(I was disapointed, however, to learn that their biodiesel bus does not smell like french fries.)

I'm Jenny, and I came to Rochester to get my Master's at RIT and *SURPRISE!* ... 10 years later I'm still here with:

I think if I had a band and my bus was a biodiesel...I would get my oil from Krispy Kreme! You would constantly be pumping fresh doughnut smell where ever you went. Can you imagine the hoards of people coming to your shows?! Sure at first they'd be ticked that there were no dougnuts to be had, but as long as you rocked it'd be alright...perhaps you could work the doughnuts into your schtick and throw them into the audience...hmmm
brillant!
